RIYADH: A crystal-studded art installation and a special water feature are some of the attractions awaiting visitors at the Kingdom’s Expo 2020 Dubai pavilion, which has closed for construction and is ready for the global event.
Construction on the Saudi pavilion began last year in February and the building is second in size to that of host nation the UAE.
It is six stories high, and features 650 solar panels that have been sourced from Saudi entrepreneurs and manufactured in the Kingdom.
Expo 2020 Dubai is set to take place next October.

MADINAH: The Islamic University of Madinah has launched an innovation competition to inspire creative solutions and help enhance campus sustainability and quality of life.
The competition features four stages: Applications run until March 12 and are followed by prototype development, final judging on April 30, and the awards ceremony.
Participants can submit projects across diverse tracks, including renewable energy, water management, smart transportation, and the circular economy.
Projects will be evaluated on innovation, feasibility, and environmental impact, with financial prizes awarded to help transform winning ideas into practical initiatives.
Saudi universities are rapidly evolving into innovation hubs, driving economic diversification under the Vision 2030 initiative.
