JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia’s coronavirus-related death rate has remained steadily in the mid-30s for two weeks, with the announcement of 31 new deaths on Saturday.
This raises the death toll in the Kingdom to 3,369.
In the Kingdom, 1,413 new cases were reported on Saturday, raising the total number of cases to 297,315.
Khamis Mushait recorded the highest number of infections in the Kingdom with 76 new cases, while Dammam reported 68 cases and Makkah 65.
The gap between the total number of cases and recoveries is closing quickly as 1,528 new recoveries were also recorded on Sunday, raising total recoveries to 264,487. The current recovery rate in Saudi Arabia is 88.9 percent.

As the Ministry of Health detects early cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in cities, 63,872 polymerase chain reaction tests were conducted in the past 24 hours, raising the number of tests conducted in the Kingdom to over 4.2 million.
Meanwhile, the ministry has announced that intensive care unit (ICU) bed capacity in Riyadh region hospitals has increased by 43 percent as part of ministry efforts to upgrade health services in the region.
This move fulfills part of the ministry’s plan to add about 3,500 ICU beds within 90 days in hospitals throughout the Kingdom.
