Dr. Arwa Althaqafi has been recently appointed the vice president of innovation at Taibah Valley.
She is an expert in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and in the field of innovation.
On her appointment to the key position, Althaqafi tweeted: “With each new stage comes new challenges. I hope to continue to show my creativity with the team at Taibah Valley and contribute to making Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah a beacon of innovation in emerging technologies, God willing.”
Althaqafi obtained her bachelor’s degree in computer science, and her master’s degree in information systems management, and her doctorate in information systems at the University of Sheffield in the UK. While studying at the university, she also worked as an enterprise resource planning specialist.
She started her career at Taibah Valley as an IoT lab director, analyzing the best practices of IoT lab strategy, developing innovative products, arranging resources, up-skilling, and cross-skilling IoT professionals. Althaqafi has participated in several prestigious conferences on AI, IoT, and blockchain, such as the Saudi Emerging Technologies Forum in 2019 and the IEEE Global Conference on the Internet of Things in 2019.
Taibah Valley, established by the University of Taibah in 2018, is a leading company in blockchain, IoT, and AI.

Saudi Arabia reaffirms commitment to the two-state solution

RIYADH: In Riyadh on Friday, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Waleed Elkhereiji participated on behalf of Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan in the extraordinary meeting of the Open-Ended Executive Committee at the level of foreign ministers of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to discuss the Israeli occupation of Palestine, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Elkhereiji reaffirmed the Kingdom’s support for the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution and its efforts to unify international positions.
He stressed the “importance of mobilizing political and economic support and advancing practical steps that translate commitments into concrete measures and accelerate the realization of the two-state solution,” the SPA stated.
He also restated Saudi Arabia’s commitment to continuing this path with partner countries to achieve “a just and comprehensive peace that fulfills the aspirations of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative.”
