DUBAI: The Saudi municipality of Al-Jawf fined more than 200 delivery workers and issued 600 warnings for safety violations, state news agency SPA reported.
The violations included not wearing gloves and masks, having no sanitizers in vehicles, not keeping a safe distance between driver and food packages, a lack of cleanliness, and a lack of medical certificates for workers. 
Regulations set by Al-Jawf municipality are meant to protect the health of consumers and prevent the spread of infectious disease, spokesperson Abdullah Al-Majed said.
He also encouraged customers to report safety violations to the authority.
