Dr. Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al-Faleh, undersecretary at Saudi Interior Ministry

Dr. Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al-Faleh was recently appointed undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior, following a royal decree.

Al-Faleh has been undersecretary of the Makkah region from May 2018 and CEO of the Makkah Region Development Authority.

Born in 1976, Al-Faleh graduated from the College of Architecture and Planning at King Saud University in 1999.

Some four years later, he received his MA degree after completing his thesis on the “enhancement of the public transport system in Saudi Arabia.” He also received an academic excellence award.

In 2008, Al-Faleh obtained his doctoral degree, presenting a thesis on the role of transportation in managing rapidly growing cities, using the Saudi capital of Riyadh as a case study.

With a keen interest in urban planning and transport strategies, Al-Faleh worked as assistant professor and part-time adviser to the Ministry of Education for its school transportation project.

In 2018 and 2019, Al-Faleh presided over the executive committee of the first and second Makkah Region Economic Forum.

Al-Faleh has held a number of positions in the Makkah governorate. He was assistant undersecretary for development and adviser to the governor of Makkah, Prince Khaled Al-Faisal. He also became general supervisor of the governorate for  development affairs as well as the general administration of Hajj and Umrah.

Al-Faleh is a member of several specialized committees and societies in Makkah. He has published a number of studies in the field of urban planning and public transportation, attended specialized forums courses and received numerous certificates and appreciation awards.

Saudi Arabia reaffirms commitment to the two-state solution

RIYADH: In Riyadh on Friday, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Waleed Elkhereiji participated on behalf of Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan in the extraordinary meeting of the Open-Ended Executive Committee at the level of foreign ministers of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to discuss the Israeli occupation of Palestine, the Saudi Press Agency reported. 

Elkhereiji reaffirmed the Kingdom’s support for the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution and its efforts to unify international positions.

He stressed the “importance of mobilizing political and economic support and advancing practical steps that translate commitments into concrete measures and accelerate the realization of the two-state solution,” the SPA stated. 

He also restated Saudi Arabia’s commitment to continuing this path with partner countries to achieve “a just and comprehensive peace that fulfills the aspirations of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative.”
