LAHORE: Princess Beatrice of York, a member of the extended British royal family, is undertaking a visit to Pakistan for a skiing trip alongside former EU leaders, according to a post on the Prime Minister’s Instagram account.

Princess Beatrice, daughter of Duke of York Prince Andrew, arrived in Pakistan four months after another pair of younger generation royals, her cousin Prince William and wife Kate Middleton toured the country in a highly anticipated and well documented royal visit.

The photo uploaded to the premier’s Instagram account on Saturday has been circulated widely on social media, and shows the high profile group lounging on garden furniture-- including Prime Minister Khan himself, Jose Maria Aznar (former Prime Minister of Spain) and Matteo Renzi (former Prime Minister of Italy).

Details of the trip have not been widely shared, but northern Pakistan has a number of popular skiing destinations during the colder months like Naltar and Astore in Gilgit-Baltistan, Shimshal in Hunza Valley, and Fairy Meadows in Nanga Parbat. There are also popular resorts running a few hours outside of Islamabad, in places like Malaam Jaba in Swat.
