ISLAMABAD: Pakistan army chief, General Qamar Javed Bajwa, met with the Chief of Staff of Sultan’s Armed Forces of Oman, Lt. Gen. Ahmed Bin Harith Al-Nabhani, at the General Head Quarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Tuesday.
During the meeting matters of mutual interest and regional situation were discussed, the military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said in a statement.
“The visiting General lauded Pakistan Army’s achievements in the fight against terrorism and continued efforts for regional peace and stability,” ISPR said.
The visiting dignitary received a guard of honor upon his arrival at the GHQ and later laid floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada to pay homage to the martyrs.
Pakistan greatly values its bond of friendship and brotherhood with Oman. Last month, Parliamentary delegation from Oman headed by the Chairman Majlis Al’Shoura (Consultative Council) of Oman, Sheikh Khalid bin Hilal Al Maawali visited Pakistan and expressed satisfaction over the positive trajectory of the relationship between Pakistan and Oman and emphasized that it should be cemented with enhanced bilateral trade.
During the visit, Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani had said that Pakistan and Oman were “twined together through cultural, religious and social similarities and both the countries have agreed to gear up the momentum for enhancing economic ties steered through Parliamentary diplomacy.”
