Stars who rocked the LSA red carpet

  • Entertainment and fashion fraternities attended the Lux Style Awards 2019 and made their red carpet steps their sartorial best
  • The Lux Style Award has turned out to be the biggest award show in Pakistan

KARACHI: With style right there in the name of the Lux Style Awards, beauty, panache and sartorial elegance were bound to show up on the red carpet. Attendees of the 18th annual Lux Style Awards were a mixed bag in the fashion department with some knocking it right out of the Expo Center.
For our best dressed we are highlighting the ladies and gentleman who rocked their looks.

Anam Malik
Anam Malik, the nominee for “Model of the Year, Female,” was a sophisticated confection purple. Whimsical and glamorous, Malik paired her ensemble with minimal accessories and hair and makeup that complemented and did not compete with the Elan gown.

Mahira Khan
Mahira Khan whose latest film “Superstar” will be in theaters soon, attended the Lux Style Awards in a lacy golden and silver column fitting gown, with statement cape-style sleeves, and a low cut back that ended in a surprise train made of tulle.

Ahmed Ali Akbar
Ahmed Ali Akbar, who was nominated for his role in the critically acclaimed “Lal Kabootar,” hit the red carpet in a white and black look. Akbar rocked a classic look but gave it a modern twist with his jacket that had unconventional touches like a larger, angular lapel.

Mushk Kaleem
The winner of “Best Emerging Talent in Fashion” was Mushk Kaleem who brought her fashion A-game in a scarlet-hued two-piece gown with an edgy cut out top layered with a ruffled full-length open front skirt.

Kamiar Rokni
A black suit given an awards night twist, Kamiar Rokni (Winner “Best Designer Bridal Couture”) styled his suit with a pop of muted color with a gray tie which was layered between silver chains.

Maya Ali
Ruffles were a trend for the night! One of the hosts of the night, Maya Ali walked the red carpet in a dreamy (princess poof dreams, anyone?) ruffled ivory gown that she wore with a large statement-making necklace.

Pakistan Air Force conducts ‘Exercise Golden Eagle’ to test combat readiness, agility

  • The exercise follows an intense, four-day Pakistan-India military conflict in May 2025
  • It focused on AI-enabled operations integrating disruptive technologies, military says

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has conducted “Exercise Golden Eagle” that successfully validated its combat readiness and operational agility through synchronized employment of the PAF’s complete combat potential, the Pakistani military said on Tuesday.

It comes months after Pakistan’s four-day military conflict with India in May, with Islamabad claiming victory in the standoff after the PAF claimed to have shot down at least six Indian fighter aircraft, including the French-made Rafale. New Delhi acknowledged some losses but did not specify a number.

The exercise was conducted on a Two-Force construct, focusing on AI-enabled, net-centric operations while integrating indigenous niche, disruptive and smart technologies in line with evolving regional security dynamics, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Pakistani military’s media wing.

Operating within a robust Integrated Air Defense System, friendly forces shaped the battlespace through seamless fusion of kinetic operations with cyber, space and electro-magnetic spectrum operations.

“The kinetic phase featured First-Shoot, First-Kill swing-role combat aircraft equipped with long-range BVR air-to-air missiles, extended-range stand-off weapons and precision strike capabilities, supported by Airborne Early Warning & Control platforms and Air-to-Air Refuelers,” the ISPR said in a statement.

“A key highlight of the exercise was Manned–Unmanned Teaming, with deep-reach killer drones and loitering munitions operating in a highly contested, congested and degraded environment, validating PAF’s capability to conduct high-tempo operations in modern warfare.”

In recent months, many countries have stepped up defense engagement with Pakistan, while delegations from multiple nations have proposed learning from the PAF’s multi-domain air warfare capabilities that officials say were successfully employed during the May conflict.

“The successful conduct of Exercise Golden Eagle reaffirms Pakistan Air Force’s unwavering commitment to maintaining a high state of operational preparedness, leveraging indigenous innovation and effectively countering emerging and future security challenges,” the ISPR added.
