ISLAMABAD: Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf Saeed Al-Malki inaugurated a mosque in the Haripur district of Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Friday.
The mosque, which is part of multiple Muslim World League (MWL) projects in the country, was “the continuation of the Kingdom’s humanitarian and charitable work under the guidance of its leadership,” the Saudi Embassy in Islamabad said in a twitter post.
Earlier this month, the regional office of the MWL in Islamabad inaugurated its annual ‘Iftar Saem’ program, which provides meals for fasting Muslims in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir.

The MWL is a Makkah-based international non-governmental Islamic organization which aims to present Islam’s tolerant principles, provide humanitarian aid, extend dialogue, engage in openness to different cultures and civilizations, and to follow a path of centrism... for a world full of peace, justice and coexistence” according to its website.
Both Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have for decades enjoyed a strong friendship, and the countries have recently agreed to deepen their cooperation in diverse fields ranging from defense to charitable work.
