Salon des Grandes Complications 2019 moves to Riyadh

  • The event will take place from April 15 to 18
  • Some of the finest watchmaking brands will be present at the conference

Fine watchmaking exhibition Salon des Grandes Complications (SDGC 2019) will move to Riyadh next week at the Al-Faisaliah Hotel from April 15 to 18, after a successful run in Jeddah.

Designed to offer a platform for Maisons and enthusiasts to convene, Salon des Grandes Complications creates opportunities for knowledge to be exchanged and collectors to discover — often for the first time in the region — limited editions, the newest launches and other rarities.

Among the international brands that will be present at the Riyadh exhibition are Blancpain, Breguet, Fabergé, Girard-Perregaux, Greubel Forsey, Harry Winston and Montblanc, in addition to retailers Alfardan Jewellery and Al-Hussaini Trading Company.

The Jeddah exhibition which took place at Hilton Hotel from April 8 to 11 was inaugurated by Princess Latifa Bint Saad Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The event was held alongside the 10th annual Jewellery Salon 2019, a well-established jewelry exhibition in the Kingdom.

It was organized in partnership with Bentley Motors and with the support of the Embassy of Switzerland in Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia is a key Middle Eastern market for watchmakers — last year saw a year-on-year increase in the import of Swiss watches by 6 percent, and this figure is only expected to increase with the introduction of new policies.
