Saudi Meteorology expects dust storms, rain across the Kingdom’s regions

JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Meteorology and Environmental Protection announced on Sunday that dust storms are expected throughout the day with a drop in temperature, accompanied by rain and thunderstorms to hit several regions across the Kingdom from Monday until Wednesday.

The weather changes are expected on Monday and Tuesday in the Northern Region border and its nearby areas, as well as in Al-Jawf, Tabuk, Madinah, Yanbu, Al-Ula and their surrounding regions.

The report said areas such as Makkah will be affected by the weather changes from Monday until Wednesday, while Al-Qassim region will experience the changes on Thursday and Friday.

Riyadh, Al-Kharj, Al-Zulfi, Al-Mujma’a and their surrounding areas will also experience weather changes on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Eastern Region, Dammam, Ihsaa, Dhahran and Najran will also witness the changes on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The authority warned earlier that rainy clouds were expected to formulate over Al-Baha region starting 10 a.m. local time and will continue until 9 p.m. on Sunday evening.
