JEDDAH: Saudi Education Minister Hamad Al-Asheikh honored the 114 winners of the Excellence in Education Award.
Al-Sheikh said the ministry accords its utmost attention to the award because it contributes to achieving better performance in the field of education. He also praised distinguished Saudi students and top achievers.
The government is putting a great deal of hope in its distinguished citizens to help in the nation’s progress, he said.
The award aims to boost the performance of personnel by instilling in them a positive spirit of competition and promoting a culture of successful practice, he said.

RIYADH: US embassy in Riyadh was targeted by drones, resulting in a small fire and minor damage to the building, Saudi Ministry of Defense said.
US embassy in Riyadh was empty at the time of the strike, and no injuries were reported yet.
The embassy issued a shelter in place notice for Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam.
