February 12 – Azer News report by Abdul Kerimkhanov states that Azerbaijan and Pakistan have faced extreme security challenges since independence. Azerbaijan has been drawn into territorial conflict with neighboring Armenia over Nagorno-Karabakh, and Pakistan’s with India because of Kashmir.
