Nine civilians killed by Houthi bombardment south of Hodeidah

  • Local sources said the militia targeted civilians gathering to drink water in the residential Bahis neighborhood within the city
  • Residents took to the streets to demand the army to hunt down remaining Houthi militants in the region

DUBAI: Seven civilians were killed and four more wounded after Houthi militants fired three mortar shells at Heiss, south of Hodeidah province, Saudi state-news channel Al-Ekhbariya reported.
In a separate incident, two civilians, including one child, were killed by militia mortar fire within the same city.
In a statement issued to the official Yemeni news agency, a local source said “militants fired missiles from their positions in Jabal Ras on three houses in Heiss, killing seven – among them four women and children.”
