  • Ithra seeks to improve cultural life and to combine knowledge and creativity to become a cross-cultural destination aimed at inspiring and motivating visitors in different fields.

DHAHRAN: The King Abdul Aziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) is hosting a “Welcome Ramadan” program at the Children’s Museum that began on the first day of Ramadan (Thursday).

“Welcome Ramadan” will run during Ithra’s operation hours, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 9:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. on the weekends. Ithra is organizing “Welcome Ramadan” to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan.

The program will hold astronomical workshops for children to see the crescent in a telescope. Children will also hunt for crescents hidden inside the center to give them an opportunity to be involved in Ramadan.

The Children’s Museum at Ithra is the first one dedicated to children in Saudi Arabia. It aims to develop the early thinking stages of a child through interactive and recreational activities.

Activities there will help them to discover themselves and build their personality as well as their confidence. The museum offers educational activities in fields such as science, the environment, culture and the arts, and features weekly programs as well as permanent exhibitions and sections.

The museum consists of two floors over an area of 3,600 square meters. The first floor includes five permanent exhibitions: Grow It, Move It, Know It, Show It and Build It. The second floor is divided into four main sections: Eco Lab, Our World, Story Cave and Islamic Art.

The museum goes beyond the local and regional to take the child into the global arena.

Ithra seeks to improve cultural life and to combine knowledge and creativity to become a cross-cultural destination aimed at inspiring and motivating visitors in different fields.

Such programs are designed to stimulate curiosity and provide opportunities and encourage talents for all segments of society and for all ages, in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
