UAE rejects Bloomberg report on defense capabilities

  • The ministry said the UAE operates diverse, integrated and multi-layered air defense systems capable of countering a full range of aerial threats

DUBAI: The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs has rejected what it described as inaccurate reporting by Bloomberg regarding the country’s defensive capabilities.

In a statement, the ministry said the claims were “false and misleading” and did not reflect the UAE’s level of preparedness, technological sophistication or operational readiness. It stressed the importance of responsible journalism and urged media outlets to verify information with official sources before publication.

The ministry said the UAE operates diverse, integrated and multi-layered air defense systems capable of countering a full range of aerial threats. These systems, it added, include long, medium and short-range capabilities designed to provide comprehensive protection of national airspace.

It also said the country maintains a robust strategic stockpile of munitions to ensure sustained interception and response capacity over extended periods while preserving full operational readiness.

The ministry reaffirmed that the UAE’s defense capabilities and national security framework remain “steadfast and uncompromised,” adding that the safety of citizens, residents and visitors remains a top priority.
