Repatriation process to South Waziristan complete

ISLAMABAD: The repatriation of all temporarily displaced persons of militancy-hit South Waziristan to their native homes is "100 percent complete," the FATA Disaster Management Authority assistant director Mian Adil Zahoor told Arab News.
According to the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) Disaster Management Authority more than 71,000 families have returned home in South Waziristan in recent years.
Mian Adil added that 1,500 families of North Waziristan will also be repatriated soon. As many as 1,100 families are to be repatriated to Rajgal valley of Khyber Agency as well.
According to the Pakistan’s State Run Radio, tribal families have been given six-months’ worth of rations, besides other necessary commodities of life.
Earlier, the repatriation of displaced families in Kurram and Orakzai agencies was also completed.
After successful military operations now most of the tribal areas are under writ of the state and authorities are hopeful that all the displaced families will be able to return to their native homes this year.
