China applauds Pakistan’s anti-terrorism efforts

ISLAMABAD: China has asked the international community to take an objective and impartial view of Pakistan’s anti-terrorism campaigns while reiterating its support for its ally in the ongoing war against violent extremism, reported Xinhua news agency on Tuesday.
Addressing a news conference in Beijing, China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lu Kang reminded the world that the people of Pakistan had made tremendous sacrifices in recent years since militant groups started targeting their country.
He applauded Pakistan’s counterterrorism campaigns, adding that Islamabad had also done a great deal of work to combat terrorism in the financial sector.
Lu highlighted the strategic relationship between the two countries, saying that China would continue to work with Pakistan to address the menace of religious militancy in the region and help its ally with its anti-terrorism efforts.
