Pakistani security forces arrest 20 suspected terrorist from Baluchistan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani security forces on Sunday apprehended 20 suspected terrorists from the country’s southwestern province of Baluchistan.
Pakistan’s military media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), in a statement said that Frontier Corps Baluchistan conducted intelligence-based operations in different parts of Baluchistan province: Buleda, Gish Kaur, Tratha and Pishin. During the operation, 20 suspected terrorists were apprehended.
Security forces also recovered a cache of arms and ammunition including “RPG rockets, submachine guns and sniper rifle ammunition, laptops, global positioning system (GPS) devices and communication equipment,” ISPR said in the statement.
These intelligence-based operations (IBOs) are part of the ongoing operation “Radd-ul-Fasaad,” the statement added.
Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad (Rejection of Discord), was launched in February 2017 by the Pakistan Army to clean up terrorism from across the country and act against sympathizers and facilitators as well. In recent weeks, security forces conducted several IBOs in Baluchistan.
On Jan.30, 2018, Frontier Corps Baluchistan, along with intelligence agencies, carried out operations on terrorist hideouts in the Dera Bugti and Dera Murad Jamali areas of Baluchistan and arrested 10 suspected “terrorists.”
