JEDDAH: Saudi Border Guards foiled attempts to smuggle 1,214.77kg of cannabis and 22,010 amphetamine tablets into the Kingdom and arrested 15 infiltrators.
According to a Border Guards spokesman, the forces stationed in Jazan, Najran and Asir apprehended 15 people in over a week. Of those arrested by the Border Guards, 14 were Yemeni nationals and one was an Ethiopian. The spokesman said that the arrested men had large quantities of cannabis (963.18kg) in their possession.
Giving details of another operation carried out in the Makkah region, he said that the Border Guards foiled a bid to smuggle narcotics into Saudi Arabia through Al-Leith sector.
Marine patrols, he added, intercepted a boat in Al-Leith and arrested a Yemeni national and confiscated 251.586kg of cannabis and 22,010 amphetamine tablets.

Saudia resumes some flights to Dubai from Riyadh and Jeddah
RIYADH: Saudi Arabia's national carrier Saudia will partially resume operations to Dubai from Saturday, the airline announced on Friday.
The airline will run outbound and inbound flights from Riyadh and Jeddah to the emirate.
The flights will initially operate on a limited schedule with additional services expected to be restored, the airline said.
After the Iran conflict started last weekend, Saudia Airlines suspended flights to Amman, Kuwait, and Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Doha, Bahrain, Moscow and Peshawar.
