Flag-hoisting ceremonies in Riyadh, Jeddah

JEDDAH: The Embassy of Pakistan will hold a flag-hoisting ceremony to celebrate the country’s Independence Day on Monday in Riyadh.
The embassy has invited members of the Pakistani community along with their families to attend the ceremony and to reach the venue before 7:30 a.m.
The Consulate General of Pakistan, Jeddah will also hold a flag-hoisting ceremony in the consulate’s building. All members of the Pakistani community are cordially invited to attend the ceremony. The ceremony will begin at 8:30 a.m. Community members are requested to reach the venue by 8:15 a.m.
The embassy in Riyadh and the consulate in Jeddah will remain closed on Monday and will reopen on Tuesday.

Saudi Arabia condemns militant attack on Pakistani police

  • Five Pakistani police personnel were killed on Tuesday when their van was ambushed in a bombing and shooting attack claimed by the militant Pakistani Taliban

RIYADH: The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday has condemned an attack that targeted Pakistani police in the country's northwest, killing five personnel. 

Five Pakistani police personnel were killed on Tuesday when their van was ambushed in a bombing and shooting attack claimed by the militant Pakistani Taliban.

“The Kingdom reiterates its total rejection of all terrorist and extremist acts and its condemnation of attempts to undermine the security and stability of Pakistan and it’s brotherly people,” a statement by the foreign ministry said.

The ministry also expressed the kingdom’s “sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims and to the government and people of Pakistan in this painful loss.”
