Saudi fitness coach reveals secret to her success

Amal Baatia, a Saudi CrossFit and calisthenics coach in Jeddah, has been a role model, encouraging women in Saudi Arabia to engage in fitness activities and a healthier lifestyle.
Baatia, who had a full-time job working as an investment manager and a proud mom of two, got into fitness training two years ago, after discovering it in Dubai. She has been devoted to sports activities since then.
“I started my career two years ago and I faced many challenges since there were no CrossFit facilities in Saudi Arabia. I had to travel to Dubai most of the time, and to the US as well, in order to learn and practice this type of sport and gain more experience,” Baatia said in an interview with Okaz Daily.
“I was an investment manager, and I had to attend my full-time job every morning. Moreover, I am a mother of two children. However, with God’s will, I somehow was able to cope with my new lifestyle,” she said. She managed to fulfill her duties as an employee and a mother, and she did not stop practicing her favorite sport activities.

Getting out of our comfort zone and start Attacking Our Weaknesses is a tough decision indeed !! As we all like to be comfortable and feeling good about what we excel in. The feeling when you start with something you know you’re strong at to build confidence and make the workout more enjoyable. But eventually you will need to overcome your fear and start working on your weaknesses , it's not easy , getting Frustrating every time you fail ,leading to you wanting to just skip the whole thing and stick to just what you are good at . You should always remind yourself that with each rep you perform or each step you make, you’re improving slightly and will eventually lead you to your overall improvement and strength that you won't feel during you journey, and then u will start to appreciate every step and rep u tried to do to reach your goal#handstandpushups #jackknifehandstandpushups #lsithold #dips #gripstrength #falsegrip #gymnasitcs #crossfit #strongsaudiwomen #fitmom #amalbfitness #jeddahfitness #dubaifitness #jeddah #saudiarabia

Regarding CrossFit in Saudi Arabia, she said that things have become much easier now as health club licenses are being granted by the authorities and more sports facility openings are looming on the horizon in several regions. “We started to develop a sense of awareness regarding physical training, and with God’s will, we will have greater skills in Saudi Arabia, and we will compete against other people from different regions and countries in the world,” Baatia said.
“I want Saudi women to know that there is nothing to strike fear into their hearts,” she said, adding, “my target is to allay this fear. I believe we can do whatever we long to. We can go to work, take care of our children and live our life normally.”

So go ahead. Fall down. The world looks different from the ground. #amalbfitness

Baatia said that would like to pursue her career as a CrossFit and calisthenics coach and enhance her skills in sports activities.
“I am looking forward to seeing a new Saudi generation full of ambitions and resilience, a Saudi generation that will be at the top of the Olympic games all around the world,” she concluded.

Saudi Cabinet condemns ‘blatant’ Iranian aggression; affirms Kingdom’s right to respond to threats

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has warned it reserves the “full right” to respond to Iranian aggression following a series of “blatant and cowardly” strikes targeting the capital and the Eastern Province.

The warning came during a late-night Cabinet session on Tuesday, chaired by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman via videoconference, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

During the session, the Cabinet “reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s full solidarity with the brotherly countries whose territories were subjected to blatant Iranian aggression”, signaling a united front against regional threats.

The session followed a dramatic escalation of hostilities, including a direct drone attack on the US Embassy in Riyadh.

Major General Turki al-Malki, spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, confirmed that while air defenses intercepted multiple threats, the embassy compound sustained a “limited fire and minor material damage.”

General Al-Malki further announced that Saudi forces successfully intercepted and destroyed eight additional drones targeting the cities of Riyadh and Al-Kharj early Tuesday morning.

In a sharp rebuke of the embassy strike, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) cited a flagrant violation of the 1949 Geneva Convention and the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.

“The repetition of this flagrant Iranian behavior... will push the region toward further escalation,” the Ministry stated, underscoring that these provocations occurred despite Riyadh’s explicit policy of not allowing its airspace or territory to be used as a launchpad for strikes against Iran.

Global condemnation and solidarity

The Cabinet expressed deep appreciation for the wave of international support as world leaders condemned Tehran’s “indiscriminate” behavior.

In a joint show of force, the US and GCC member states (Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE) along with Jordan stood united, labeling the strikes a “dangerous escalation” and reaffirming a collective right to self-defense.

Leaders from the United Kingdom, France, and India. — including Prime Minister Narendra Modi — voiced strong solidarity with the Kingdom. The UK government confirmed its forces are engaged in “defensive actions” to maintain regional stability.

Amid the heightened military tension, the Cabinet reviewed the Kingdom’s hospitality efforts for GCC citizens currently stranded at Saudi airports due to regional airspace closures. The crown prince reaffirmed that the state would mobilize all capabilities to support brotherly nations in any measures they take to restore regional peace and stability.
