Saudi official gives assurance of safe Hajj

RIYADH: Gen. Saeed bin Abdullah Al-Qahtani, assistant interior minister for operations affairs and general supervisor of public security, on Tuesday gave assurances that security forces will provide a safe Hajj pilgrimage.
He gave the assurance while chairing the first meeting of commanders of Hajj security forces in Makkah. Stressing the importance of security in a mass gathering such as Hajj, Al-Qahtani said the safety of pilgrims is the most important guideline to be followed by security forces, which should provide them with the best service and do so with a sense of dedication.
He stressed the importance of early preparation and cooperation in accordance with the Hajj security plan.
The commander of Hajj security forces, Gen. Khalid Al-Harbi, said it is their duty to serve pilgrims with a sense of devotion and loyalty to Allah.

Saudi crown prince joins Kuwaiti counterpart in condemning Iranian attacks on GCC states

RIYADH: Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and his Kuwait counterpart Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Sabah have condemned Iran’s attacks on the GCC countries, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Friday.

In a telephone call on Thursday, they said the attacks violate their countries’ sovereignty, security and safety, with similar repercussions for the region and world.

After the US and Israel launched an assault on Iran on Saturday, Tehran responded by attacking several countries.
