A people’s president

The historic Cairo University speech, the elimination of Osama Bin Laden, the revival of the US economy, the creation of millions of jobs, protection of the minimum wage, sincere efforts to shut the Guantanamo Bay detention camp, a clear vision to deal with climate change, and the reinstatement of relations with Iran, Cuba and Venezuela are some of the enduring milestones the world witnessed under the statesmanship of one of the greatest US presidents.
Winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, Barack Obama attracted the attention and admiration not only of Americans but of the world. He changed the world’s perception of the US from an imperialist nation to a responsible global power. Obama relentlessly tried to construct what his predecessors destroyed worldwide. His planning, determination and humility made him popular.
His personal life is a great inspiration, and it reiterates that legends are not born but made. The outgoing president has successfully completed his assigned tasks without giving room for much criticism. His departure from Israel and proximity to the Muslim world made him a widely accepted personality, especially in the Middle East and West Asia. We will miss you, Mr. President.
