HAMBURG: Jordan’s state grains buyer purchased about 60,000 metric tons of animal feed barley in an international tender that closed on Wednesday, European traders said.

The ‌seller was ‌said to be ‌trading ⁠house Louis Dreyfus, with ⁠the barley sold at $252.60 a ton, cost and freight (c&f), for shipment in the first half of September, ⁠the traders said.

‌Eight ‌trading firms took part ‌in the tender, they ‌said, citing other participants and price offers per ton c&f as follows: Bunge $259.69/$261.69; CHS $255.38; ‌Cargill $263.66; Al-Ghurair $353.90; Olam $258; Ameropa $255.45; Cofco $257.50.

Reports reflect assessments ⁠from ⁠traders and further estimates of prices and volumes are still possible later.

A new tender is expected to be held in two weeks, traders added.
