CAIRO: The Arab Parliament has pledged its ongoing support for Gazans to mark the 48th anniversary of Palestinian Land Day.
Members said the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip had been subjected to “a war of genocide and forced displacement,” adding that “complete massacres and war crimes were being committed against Palestinians, in which thousands of innocent people have been killed, most of them children, women, and the elderly.”
They condemned all settlement policies implemented by Israel in the occupied Palestinian territories and urged international community intervention to halt the fighting, bring about a lasting ceasefire, prevent forced displacement, and secure the free flow of aid.
Parliamentarians also called for urgent negotiations to reach a final, just, and sustainable solution to the Palestinian issue based on ending the occupation of all Palestinian lands, establishing an independent Palestinian state with the city of Jerusalem as its capital, and allowing the right of return linked to refugee issues.
