EU updates asylum guidance for Syrians a year after Assad’s fall

Number of Syrians requesting asylum dropped significantly from 16,000 in October 2024, before the fall of Assad, to 3,500 in September 2025
But there were still asylum requests of some 110,000 Syrians awaiting decision as of September 30, says EU Agency for Asylum
