Health Minister Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah yesterday thanked Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah for his support and encouragement to the ministry’s staff.
“King Abdullah has described Health Ministry staff as 'mujahideen' and we consider it a medal of honor on our chests,” he said, adding that it would encourage the ministry’s employees to work harder.
Al-Rabeeah called upon the ministry’s staff to rise up to the expectations of the Kingdom’s leadership by exerting more efforts to improve public health services.
The minister made this comment while speaking to reporters after inspecting the newly constructed 300-bed East Jeddah Hospital. About 80 percent of work on the hospital has been completed.
Al-Rabeeah toured all the departments of the hospital and inspected its medical facilities. He was briefed on the project’s progress by Jeddah Health Director Sami Badawood and the project’s contractor.
The minister urged the contracting company to complete the work on time.
He later visited King Fahd Hospital in Jeddah and its newly built 280-bed medical tower that accommodates intensive care units, the emergency ward and outpatient clinics.
In a statement on the occasion, Badawood thanked the minister for visiting the two hospitals and following up on public health services in the city. “The new projects will bring about qualitative improvement in Jeddah’s health services,” the director said.
