Africans detained by border guards

JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia’s border guards have detained a total of 66 people who attempted to enter the country using wooden boats on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Marine Col. Gen. Mohammed Saher Al-Harbi, spokesman for the Border Guards, said staff in the Makkah province stopped 20 Sudanese, 10 Nigerians, 12 Ethiopians, and 24 Chadians. There were 23 women and 21 children on the boats.

Saudi crown prince congratulates Netherlands PM on forming government

RIYADH: Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman sent a congratulatory telegram to Rob Jetten for assuming office as prime minister of the Netherlands and forming a government.

Jetten, 38, became the youngest prime minister in the country’s history following his party’s success in the October elections.

The crown prince extended his sincere congratulations and best wishes for success to Jetten and the people of the Netherlands, wishing them further progress and advancement, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
