JEDDAH: The Ministry of Haj and Umrah has hired 10 agencies and Haj operators to service Iranian pilgrims arriving from countries other than Iran.
The move comes at a time when Iran deprived its citizens of the opportunity of performing Haj, having refused to sign the Haj agreement. It did so after its attempt to gain extra privileges was rejected.
The ministry hired 40 agencies from South Asian countries, eight from East Asian countries and 15 tourist agencies and companies that work with African countries to ensure that there will be no fake companies attempting to bring in Iranian pilgrims. The ministry allocated the largest share to pilgrims arriving from Turkey and European countries, America, Canada and others, which came through over 100 agencies and tourist companies. The ministry is working with tour companies through a delegate of Tawafa establishment.
The coordination committee for organizations is working with companies, agencies and Islamic associations on issuing press releases and awareness messages, contributing to the development of regulations governing the activities of enterprises and offices.
The council responsible for the coordination of institutions and companies dealing with pilgrims is working on creating a comprehensive system that connects all the companies and organizations to ensure the quick transfer of information and to link them to the Haj and Umrah Services Center at the ministry, in addition to participating in resolving disputes that may arise between companies or between the partners.
