Qatif drive to manage waste

DAMMAM: The environmental health committee of the Municipal Council in Qatif is going to launch an awareness campaign to address the phenomenon of waste accumulation around garbage containers in the province.
The campaign seeks to raise awareness among citizens and residents about their rights and duties in this regard, to focus on the causes of this phenomenon and find ways to eliminate it. The idea of the campaign was mooted after several citizens complained about this phenomenon.
The committee said that the real causes of this problem might be lack of containers, not daily emptying of waste, or the wrong way of waste disposal.
The committee said that the campaign includes several stages, starting with preparing a questionnaire on social networking sites to collect information and count the services provided in the cities, and then rectifying the shortcomings of the municipality, if any.
The campaign will be launched in collaboration with development and community committees, clubs, and charities, along with a volunteer team from outside the municipal council.
