JEDDAH: Charity Zamzam Association for Health Services provided free treatment to 809 patients through its mobile clinics during the past six months in the city. It also distributed medicines worth SR186,832 during the last six months, local media reported.
The association referred 74 health cases to hospitals and private medical centers for follow-up treatment at a cost of SR259,000.
Fahad Al-Zahrani, spokesman for the association, said the mobile clinics aim to provide health services to those who cannot have access to it.
“The clinics offer treatment and preventive measures in the poor neighborhoods of Jeddah.”
The association coordinated with the authorities concerned to conduct these rounds, he said.
Al-Zahrani said the mobile clinics are fully equipped with medical appliances.
“The mobile clinics offer medical examinations by specialized doctors and consultants, and provide medicines. Some health cases are referred to hospitals for further treatments or advanced medical examinations, or for medical procedures if needed.”
He said specialized male and female doctors and volunteers from the field of family and internal medicine participate in the program of the mobile clinics, in addition to pharmacists and nurses.
