Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman will patronize Riyadh Economic Forum in its seventh session, which is scheduled to be held from Dec. 8-11, Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced on Tuesday.
Two top RCCI officials highly lauded the patronage and thanked the king for his kind gesture on behalf of the Kingdom’s business community.
Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al-Zamil, chairman of both Council of Saudi Chambers (CSC) and RCCI, said the patronage is a big support to the forum from the wise leadership of this country, and a strong motivator for continuing scientific research efforts, enhancing the national economy and consolidating the role of the private sector in the economy.
Saad Ibrahim Al-Mojil, board member of RCCI and chairman of board of trustees of the forum, said it's not unusual that the king bestows the honor to the forum by accepting to patronize it.
“This is because the forum idea was King Salman’s brainchild when he was the governor of Riyadh. He wanted the forum to be a reflection of the capital’s status in the political and economic domain, and a stimulator for the growth of the national economy,” he added.
The forum enjoys the global status because of the participation of high ranking experts, speakers, moderators and participants from the world over and the Kingdom.
This year, they will tackle four major topics that are in focus. They include evaluating the sustainable capacity of the Saudi economy to create jobs for citizens, challenges and prospects of alternative and renewable energy economics in the country, evaluating the prospects of developing Saudi judicial system and its impact on national economy, and the development of information technology as a development stimulator and motivator to move to the knowledge economy.
