Western media

This is with reference to the article “Ukraine: Caught in the crossfire” (March 1) by Stephen Holmes and Ivan Krastev. I think that the western media plays a major role in creating confusions over various global issues. I am sure Washington would never allow any political power to play around in its backyard. Unfortunately, the western media does not give a clear picture and only shows the angle, which suits its interest. In the case of Ukraine, Russia’s annexation of Crimea cannot be justified but somehow it seems that the West is raising a bogey of Cold War and blaming Russia for everything.
Every country has the right to protect its interest. And the United States has set precedence in this regard. The policy of preemptive action should not irk anybody, as Washington is a pioneer in introducing this doctrine.
