Riyadh police are on the look out for a hit-and-run motorist who killed a motorcyclist near the Kingdom Tower in the capital.
Mohammed Shakir, a night auditor at the Faisaliah Hotel in Riyadh, was knocked down by a car as he was returning home from work. The police found the blood-stained body on the road without any other leads into the incident.
The police uncovered the whereabouts of the deceased from his mobile phone, which was lying in his pocket.
Authorities have intensified search for the motorist who allegedly killed Shakir, whose body is kept at the morgue of the Shumaisi Hospital (also known as King Saud Hospital) in Riyadh.
Initial police reports said that there are no clues about the accident, but circumstantial evidence points to the man being knocked down by a vehicle.
Shakir, a Sri Lankan national, had been working for the hotel for more than 13 years as a night auditor.
He was from Akurana, a suburb in the island's hill capital, Kandy. He is survived by his wife, Fatima, and his children, Asma, 3, and Yunus, 2.
