Maaden Eid breakfast bolsters management-staff relations

Maaden hosted a breakfast for employees in celebration of Eid Al-Fitr at its headquarters in Riyadh on Thursday.
Prominent among those who attended the breakfast was Khaled bin Sale Al-Rowais, vice president of finance at Maaden.
“Our Eid Al-Fitr breakfast was organized to hit two birds with one stone: to provide an opportunity for social interaction between our management and staff members and to enhance the intra-departmental communication in the company,” Al-Rowais told Arab News. Maaden is the largest and the most distinct mining company in Saudi Arabia.
Maaden, also known as Saudi Arabian Mining Company, spearheaded some of the Kingdom’s most successful projects in the field of mining and mineral exploration.
These include Al-Jalamid phosphate mine, Ras Al-Khair phosphate and aluminum processing facilities, Az Zabirah Kaolin and low grade bauxite mine, Al-Ba’itha bauxite mine, Zarghat magnesite mine, Mahd ad Dahab gold and base metals mine, Sukhaybarat gold and base metals mine, Bulghah gold and base metals mine, Al-Hajar gold and base metals mine and Al-Amar gold and base metals mine. The affiliates of Maaden in Ras Al Khair and Jeddah also celebrated Eid Al-Fitr in their respective headquarters in order to welcome their employees after the weeklong holiday.
On behalf of Maaden President and CEO, Al-Rowais wished the company well and hoped that the staff members will become more steadfast and motivated in their efforts to help the company achieve greater heights in the years to come.
Maaden recently made history when it signed a partnership contract with the Mosaic Company and the Saudi Basic Industries (SABIC) to develop a fully integrated phosphate production facility in the Kingdom set for completion in 2016.

Taif festival celebrates Saudi Arabia’s literary icons

  • It introduces visitors to the contributions of literary pioneers through accessible visual and narrative content

TAIF: A special section highlighting key Saudi literary figures forms part of the Writers and Readers Festival in Taif.

The area explores the lives of distinguished writers, poets, and authors who have shaped the Kingdom’s creative landscape, influencing literature, journalism, theater and intellectual thought.

It introduces visitors to the contributions of literary pioneers through accessible visual and narrative content, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Sunday.

Organized by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission, the festival runs until Jan. 15 and features 42 prominent publishing houses from Saudi Arabia and overseas, offering visitors the chance to explore the latest works in literature, philosophy and general knowledge.

Meanwhile, the festival’s interactive murals section engages visitors with openwork art panels, allowing them to contribute to the city’s features and identity.

The murals depict Taif’s natural and historical landmarks, including Al-Hada Mountain, the Taif rose gardens, and traditional Hijazi palaces. Others are inspired by Souq Okaz, a historic literary and commercial center linked to the region’s poetic heritage.

Designed by a visual artist, they blend folk-inspired elements with imaginative expression, creating a collaborative experience that celebrates the city’s beauty and brings art closer to the public.
