Based on the best-seller by David Nicholls, the story follows Emma's relationship with university friend Dexter Mayhew by catching up with them on the same day every year. British actor Jim Sturgess, who portrays Dex, and the film's director, Lone Scherfig ("An Education"), will also attend.
But all eyes and ears will be on Hathaway, as the local crowd decides whether or not her Yorkshire accent can make the grade. The movie opened in the UK on Wednesday.
