The Charity Warehouse is overseeing and managing the distribution for the electronic vouchers to the needy families.
“Since the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, the Charity Warehouse has been distributing electronic cards to the needy families; these families can now shop at major supermarkets in Jeddah,” said Faisal Abdulrahman, an official at the charity.
“The cards are similar to ration cards, and they are distributed according to the specific needs and size of each family. The distribution will continue until the end of the holy month,” he said.
Some 6,000 needy families and orphans are registered with the Charity Warehouse in Jeddah, which support them with donations from people.
“The needy families are informed of the arrangement by SMS messages. The service allows them to receive help in a
civilized manner with their dignity preserved,” Abdulrahman said.
Before Eid Al-Fitr, the Charity Warehouse will be distributing ATM debit cards to registered orphans and those in foster care, he said.
Orphans can purchase their Eid clothes and needs for the season by using the cards.
