Before a Prince George's County judge imposed his sentence on Tuesday, 22-year-old Darren Bullock of Waldorf said he understands the pain the accident caused and accepts responsibility for his actions. Prosecutors say Bullock was racing 20-year-old Tavon Taylor in February 2008 when Bullock slammed into a crowd in the road watching a different race, killing eight people. Bullock pleaded guilty in January to eight counts of vehicular manslaughter. Taylor was convicted Monday of driving in an illegal street race and reckless driving, but the jury deadlocked on vehicular manslaughter charges. His retrial on those counts was scheduled on Tuesday for Oct. 18.
