BEIRUT, 23 May 2006 — Lebanese diva Sabah has just returned from Yemen where she held two grand performances, marking her first time in the country since the start of her career.
Sabah’s performance came as part of Yemen’s National Day celebrations. A number of Arab intellectuals and artists participated.
Earlier this year, Sabah was admitted to a hospital after experiencing severe pains in her shoulder. She previously had screws placed in her shoulder, and doctors quickly discovered that they had loosened, causing her distress. Sabah immediately underwent surgery to have them tightened and is now in recovery.
Sabah made a comeback to the small screen in the new television comedy “Azizi Al Natour Wa Al Sit Budoor.” The series is comprised of 26 episodes, starring Sabbah and scriptwriter Kareem Abu Shaqra.
The series revolves around a wealthy woman, played by Sabah, and the love and understanding between her and her husband.
The Seventh Annual Arabic Music Festival in Rabat, Morocco honored the great singer for her lifetime of achievements, and during the celebration she sang “Ma Ana Ila Bashar” (I’m only human), originally recorded in the 70’s upon a request by the late Moroccan King Alhassan II.
Sabah has chosen a number of her most popular hits, like “Dakhlak E’younak” and “Jeeb El Mijwiz,” in order to create remixes for a soon to be released collection.
The music production company “Rotana” has filmed a music video for Sabah, titled “Bithibo El Dini” (You Love the World). The video is directed by Arman Ghazara and was filmed in Body Ma’louli studio.
