JEDDAH, 28 August 2005 — The female section of Abdul Latif Jameel Community Services Program organized a meeting to show the opportunities available for women trainees in female sections, the private sector, and small projects that suit our culture and norms. Over 800 women attended the program. The meeting began with a briefing about the training opportunities created by the center for women in cosmetics, tailoring, flower arrangements, photography, sales and other fields. The meeting also included a segment about the program’s support of small businesses initiated by women either from within their households or through small start-ups. The presentations included briefing about the productive families program and the loans offered to families and included sections about the health and social programs offered by the group. These loans may reach SR1,000 to aid women working from home and help their services and industry.
