RAMALLAH: A 17-year-old Palestinian died on Saturday after being shot and wounded by Israeli forces in the village of Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah.
Marzouq Abu Naim, deputy head of the Al-Mughayyir village council, said that Fadi Naasan had been struck in the thigh by an explosive bullet during an Israeli raid on the village about a week earlier.
The bullet, fired during a settler attack, caused critical injuries.
On July 11, Israeli forces and settlers attacked the home of Mohammed Hamed Abu Aliya in Al-Mughayyir, shooting Al-Naasan in the thigh with live ammunition.
Other residents were injured by rubber-coated bullets.
A 10-year-old child, Raed Odeh Abu Alia, was also struck in the head by a stun grenade.
Al-Mughayir and surrounding villages and towns have been subjected to frequent attacks by settlers in addition to raids by Israeli forces.
Israeli troops sealed off the entrance to the village ahead of the funeral procession for Naasan.
Local sources said that troops closed the western entrance to the village in both directions, preventing residents from entering or leaving.
The western road is currently the only entrance to the village, while the eastern entrance has remained closed for the past four years.
Israeli forces fired tear gas canisters toward Al-Mughayyir Boys’ School, causing a fire in the schoolyard.
