Simi and Haze celebrate master’s degrees

DUBAI: US Palestinian beauty entrepreneurs and influencers Simi and Haze Khadra have added another feather to their caps — a master’s degree each from Harvard University.

Born in Saudi Arabia and raised between London and Dubai, the twins initially rose to fame for their front-row fashion week presence and DJing at major festivals such as Coachella. They went on to launch their own beauty brand, SimiHaze Beauty, in 2021.

Now, the pair have taken to social media to share the news of their post-graduate degrees with their 1.7 million followers on Instagram.

“What a journey!!! Two master’s degrees down,” the sisters posted on their joint Instagram account, without specifying the subject of their degrees.

The pair have been busy while at university, hosting sessions of a podcast titled “Society for Perception Studies Speaker Series.”

The latest guest was Marshall Ganz, senior lecturer in leadership, organizing, and civil society at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

“In our conversation with Marshall Ganz, we discussed how new experiences can fundamentally change what we are able to notice,” the podcast team posted on social media.

On the fashion front, the twins most recently worked with Swedish retailer H&M to promote its collaboration with Belgian designer Glenn Martens late last year.

The twins posed in a series of items from the new collection in a paid advertorial post on Instagram, captioning it “fade to black.”

The pair have also been launching new products via their brand, which expanded to the Middle East in 2024.

Known for their bold and innovative stick-on makeup designs — such as chrome wings and holographic cat-eyes — the brand began with eye products and then expanded its offerings to include lipsticks and bronzing powders.

The pair described the experience of launching in the region, via Sephora stores, as “so surreal” to Arab News.

“The market has been such a huge goal of ours since we started because we grew up here,” Simi said in an interview at the time. “We’re so happy that our products are finally accessible to our amazing followers here.”
