RIYADH: Princess Reema bint Bandar, Saudi ambassador to the US, met the Saudi team who are competing in the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Saturday.

The Saudi delegation includes 42 students presenting projects across a range of emerging scientific fields. The finalists were selected through the National Olympiad for Scientific Creativity, Ibdaa 2026, Mawhiba’s annual program for nurturing scientific talent.

The Kingdom’s participation is led by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity and the Ministry of Education.

The fair, which runs May 9 to 15, features more than 1,700 students from 70 countries.

Since joining ISEF in 2007, Saudi Arabia has won 185 awards, including 124 grand prizes and 61 special awards. At last year’s competition, the Kingdom ranked second in grand prizes after the US, marking its strongest performance to date.
