Child injured in attack by Israeli settlers in northern Jordan Valley

RAMALLAH: A Palestinian child was injured on Saturday during an attack by Israeli settlers on residents in Khirbet Al-Hadidiya, a Bedouin hamlet in the northern Jordan Valley, northeast of the occupied West Bank.

Human rights activist Aref Daraghmeh said that settlers stormed the community and assaulted residents with pepper spray, resulting in the injury of a child.
Also on Saturday, settlers attacked Palestinian-owned land in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, releasing their livestock and uprooting and damaging around 30 olive trees.
Anti-settlement activist Osama Makhameh said settlers from the Karmiel settlement and surrounding outposts, built on Palestinian land in Masafer Yatta, released their livestock, under the protection of Israeli forces, onto Palestinian land and uprooted and damaged 30 olive trees in Khirbet Rajoum Ali, belonging to Mahmoud Ibrahim Al-Adra.
In an another incident, settlers released their livestock onto Palestinian land in the Hamroush area, east of the town of Sa’ir, northeast of Hebron, and destroyed Palestinian crops.
Residents of the villages, hamlets, and Bedouin communities in Masafer Yatta and the town of Sa’ir called on local and international organizations to protect them and stop the attacks by Israeli forces and settlers against residents, herders, their land, homes, and property.
Local sources reported that settlers attacked the Bedouin community of Arab Al-Kaabneh north of Jericho on Saturday, targeting homes and property.
Al-Baydar Organization for the Defense of Bedouin Rights said settlers stormed the area and threw stones at residents’ dwellings, damaging hay bales. No injuries were reported.
Separately, three Palestinians were injured after being assaulted by settlers in the town of Jalud, south of Nablus.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that its crews in Salfit treated three people injured in colonist attack in Jalud.
Four Palestinians, including an elderly woman, were injured following another attack in Jabal Jalis, east of Hebron.
Rashid Al-Zrou Al-Tamimi said that Palestinian Red Crescent teams transferred three injured people following a violent assault by settlers.
