RIYADH: An inspection campaign targeting hair transplant services in dermatology and cosmetic clinics, along with same-day surgery centers, has been launched by The Ministry of Health.

The initiative is part of the ministry’s efforts to enhance patient safety and improve service quality, focusing on compliance with infection control standards in operating rooms, adherence to approved protocols, and verification that practitioners operate within their areas of specialization and have appropriate qualifications and experience.

It aligns with the Kingdom's broader goals of improving health quality, with inspections ensuring clinics are properly equipped, use approved medical devices and maintain qualified, licensed staff.

The ministry warned that violations could result in healthcare facilities being fined up to SR100,000 and even facing closure. Practitioners could be fined up to SR100,000 and imprisoned for up to six months.

The ministry urged the public to report any violations via the unified call center on 937, reaffirming its commitment to ongoing inspections to safeguard public health and ensure compliance with regulations.
