Saudi Arabia’s Abaad platform promotes space photography

  • This aims to showcase Arab photographers’ creative work and strengthen their presence in the field

RIYADH: The Saudi Space Agency has launched the Abaad platform to promote astrophotography, enrich Arabic content in the field, enable enthusiasts to document cosmic phenomena, and build a specialized visual archive.

The platform highlights Arab talent in astrophotography through several participation tracks, including deep space, the solar system, star trails, and space and heritage.

This aims to showcase Arab photographers’ creative work and strengthen their presence in the field, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

Participants can capture astronomical images and upload them via the platform. Submissions will be evaluated and displayed monthly, with the best image selected and published across the agency’s platforms.

The initiative is part of the Saudi Space Agency’s efforts to promote scientific awareness, support creativity, and enable community engagement with space sciences in innovative ways.

Those wishing to participate can visit the Abaad platform at ssa.gov.sa/abaad-platform/.
