Hezbollah MP says group reserves right to respond to Israeli ‘aggressions’

  • Hezbollah MP Ali Fayad said extending the ceasefire ‘makes no sense’ in light of continued ‘hostile acts’ by Israel

BEIRUT: Lebanese militant group Hezbollah reserves the right to respond to any Israeli “aggressions” during the ongoing truce in Lebanon, Ali Fayad, an MP for the party, said on Friday.

He said extending the ceasefire “makes no sense” in light of continued “hostile acts” by Israel, saying they gave “the resistance the right to respond at the appropriate time.”

The statement by lawmaker Ali Fayyad was the ‌first ‌response by the ‌Iran-backed group ‌to the three-week ceasefire extension announced on Thursday by ‌US President Donald Trump.
