RIYADH: The Saudi Heritage Commission has listed 1,414 new archaeological sites in the national antiquities register, which reflects the diversity of the Kingdom’s cultural riches.
It also underscores the broad scope of national efforts to survey and document archaeological sites, and to enable their utilization as cultural and economic resources that support national development.
The newly registered sites cover all regions of the Kingdom.
Riyadh recorded 525 new archaeological sites, Makkah 378, Madinah six, Qassim 64, Eastern Province 17, Asir 10, Tabuk 17, Hail 68, Northern Borders Region five, Jazan 34, Najran five, Al-Baha two, and Jouf 283.
