Tahina on Prince Sultan Road in Jeddah is a concept built around Egyptian-style street food with a Saudi base, focusing mainly on small sandwiches and mixed grill boxes.
I tried a combination box that included different sandwich options. The shawarma and kofta were straightforward in preparation, while the BBQ grill sandwiches followed a similar format with different sides like salads, tahini sauce and fries.
The size of each sandwich is relatively small, which makes the combo boxes practical, especially since it lets you try more than one in a single order.

The menu also offers a plate-style option featuring shawarma, grills, and kofta, with bread served on the side.
Alongside these, the menu includes Egyptian-style sausages served either on a plate or in a sandwich that are very fresh in taste and well-seasoned.
The tarb, which is minced meat wrapped in lamb fat, stands out as a richer option compared to the rest and a must try.

The kebda iskandarani and hawawshi follow familiar street-food preparation styles, with a focus on quick service rather than presentation.
The combo box approach works well for variety, especially for those who prefer sampling multiple items instead of a single large meal.

The best way to experience the food is to dine in and have it fresh and hot, as the texture and taste are more noticeable immediately after serving.
